I was driving down Northwood Avenue and noticed a Great Egret in a retention pond on the north side of the road. There are two retention ponds along Northwood Avenue. The 'west' retention pond is located in the southeastern corner of Van Buren Road and Northwood Avenue. The 'east' retention pond is on the north side of Northwood Avenue by Ridge Road. There was also a Great Blue Heron there. I got this comparison photo of the two.
