Melchor Tract Park ~ October 13, 2024

I made another trek to the Melchor Tract Park, hoping for a Dickcissel or an Orange-crowned Warbler. A good number of sparrows were present. I tallied 14 Song, 10 White-throated, 9 Swamp, 9 Savannah, and 5 Field Sparrows.
A Sharp-shinned Hawk, a Cooper's Hawk, and a Merlin took turns scaring up the roughly 25 American Pipits in the field to the west of the park's property. A Purple Finch was also one of the better birds seen along with both kinglets, Eastern Bluebird, and American Goldfinch. Six Palm Warblers were also seen among the sparrows.
