A stop at the Hollo Road retention pond produced 15 Green-winged Teal, 5 Lesser and a Greater Yellowlegs, 2 Semipalmated and 9 Least Sandpipers, and 4 Killdeer. At the adjacent Shoeneck Creek, I spotted a Swamp Sparrow.
From there, I headed to the St. Luke's Anderson Campus. A Green Heron was along the edge of the pond. I noticed a Merlin perched in a snag partway out the walking trail. He was pretty much unconcerned about me taking photos of him.
Back at home after dinner, I looked outside by the pond and tallied the following in a 20-minute span: Eastern Phoebe, Carolina Wren, Northern Mockingbird, American Goldfinch, Brown-headed Cowbird, and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
