I decided to drive over to the Newburg Road retention pond to see if the heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Isaias might have caused a good bird to drop in. There wasn't anything special there, but the grassy field held a large group of gulls.
I counted 146 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 3 American Herring Gulls, 24 Ring-billed Gulls, and 7 Killdeer among around 130 Canada Geese.
