An Abbreviated Repeat Run of Yesterday ~ March 24, 2025

After an appointment and other things, I got a late start and headed out at around 4:00. I was again surprised to see the female Common Merganser still content in the Newburg Road retention pond behind the hospital.

Most of the same birds that were at the Nazareth Quarry yesterday were there again today but in smaller numbers. I spotted 26 Ruddy Ducks, 7 Ring-necked Ducks, 6 Common Mergansers, 4 Buffleheads, 2 American Black Ducks, a Greater Scaup, 19 American Coots, 2 Horned Grebes, a Pied-billed Grebe, and a Double-crested Cormorant.

From there, I drove over to the Regency ponds. The 3 Pectoral Sandpipers, the Lesser Yellowlegs, and now 4 Wilson's Snipe were still present. The light was much better today for getting photos of the Pectorals.

Also there were 5 Northern Shovelers, a Green-winged Teal, and 8 Killdeer among 24 Mallards.
Over at the nearby Silver Crest Road pond were 3 Snow Geese among the 44 Canada Geese, 9 Ruddy Ducks, 2 Ring-necked Ducks, 2 Buffleheads, and a Lesser Scaup.

As yesterday, my last stop near sunset was Green Pond where I found the male Blue-winged Teal continuing in the back middle pond next to the development along with 2 Eastern Phoebes.
