The fog was just clearing as I got to the Woodland Hills Preserve. Although there weren't a lot of warblers, I did see 2 Black-throated Blue Warblers, a Black-throated Green, a Yellow-rumped, and a Palm Warbler. Birds among them included 2 Blue-headed Vireos, 7 Ruby-crowned Kinglets and a Golden-crowned Kinglet, a Scarlet Tanager, 2 Eastern Phoebes, and an Eastern Wood-Pewee. Sparrows included a group of 7 White-throated Sparrows and a Lincoln's Sparrow plus the closely-related Eastern Towhee.
Monarch butterflies have been on the move for a while now. One of them posed nicely for me.
