Yesterday, Adam Miller found a White-rumped Sandpiper at the West Gremar retention pond. I took a run over there to see if it still might be there. It wasn't, but the Pectoral Sandpiper that he also found was, along with 4 Lesser Yellowlegs and 6 Killdeer.
Two Savannah Sparrows were also present around the pond's perimeter.
From there, I took the short drive over to the Regency Boulevard ponds. The ponds produced the same birds that were there the day before. The two Northern Shovelers and 7 Wood Ducks continued in the north pond.
The 5 Green-winged Teal and 2 American Black Ducks were in the south pond. Notice how the speculum color, which is actually green as shows in the middle photo, changes on the wing depending on the angle of light refraction.
I stopped at Green Pond on the way back home. The Farmersville Road retention pond held one Great Blue Heron and 2 Green Herons. The adjacent pond held 2 American Black Ducks.
I counted 7 Savannah Sparrows in the pond that held at least 20 Savannahs the day before.
