In the morning, notable birds seen while golfing at Sawmill Golf Course included a Common Raven, 3 Eastern Bluebirds, and a Golden-crowned Kinglet along with 40+ Blue Jays.
I left the golf course and headed for the Regency Boulevard ponds, getting there in the early afternoon. The north pond held 4 Wood Ducks and 2 Northern Shovelers. I was only able to get a long-distance documentation photo of them.
The south pond held 5 Green-winged Teal. The woods edge produced 2 Eastern Phoebes, a White-throated Sparrow, and a Common Yellowthroat.
Over at Green Pond, a Pied-billed Grebe was feeding near the back of the pond.
Across the road from the pond, 2 Great Blue Herons and 3 Green Herons were in the Farmersville Road retention pond.
The pond closest to the housing development is always the one with the least amount of water in it. Because of that, it has grown up with fairly tall vegetation. I walked over to it and found at least 20 Savannah Sparrows there!
