An early morning check of the Regency Boulevard retention ponds yielded pretty much the same cast of characters. I got a nice photo of one of the two Lesser Yellowlegs as it flew across in front of me.
One of the several Spotted Sandpipers did the same thing, letting me get this shot of it.
The north pond continued to hold the female Blue-winged Teal, the male Ruddy Duck, and the Pied-billed Grebe.
Groups of swallows and a few Chimney Swifts were zooming around the pond. What was surprising was that there were a good number of Bank Swallows representing them.
A Great Blue Heron was also present. There was no sign of the Hooded Merganser today.
