On what was a day with steady rain in the morning, I looked out the window and saw that the feeders had attracted a pretty soggy male Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Late in the day, the rain finally slowed, so I went to Green Pond to see what might be there. In the somewhat-sheltered area of the little pond by the house, I discovered a group of warblers flitting around after food. Mixed in with 14 Yellow-rumped Warblers were a Yellow Warbler, a Common Yellowthroat, an American Redstart, a Northern Waterthrush, and two more surprising ones, a Cape May Warbler and a Louisiana Waterthrush.
A good number of shorebirds were also present. They included 14 Lesser and 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 20 Least and 17 Solitary Sandpipers, and 4 Killdeer. Also there were 3 Wood Ducks and the continuing Bufflehead.
