This morning was spent at Housenick Park. Among the 33 species were 2 Mallards, a Great Blue Heron, an Osprey, a Cooper's Hawk, 2 Bald Eagles, an Eastern Warbling Vireo, 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 3 Eastern Bluebirds, 9 American Goldfinches, one Field, one Swamp, and 4 White-throated Sparrows, my first Orchard Oriole of the year, and 2 Baltimore Orioles.
Eight Lesser Yellowlegs and 2 Greater Yellowlegs were in the flooded area at the Route 191 and Hollo Road intersection; 22 Lesser Yellowlegs and a Solitary Sandpiper were at the Christian Springs Road pond; and 2 Greater Yellowlegs and a Spotted Sandpiper were at the Tatamy Exit retention pond.
