I went to Melchor Tract Park just before sunset to see if any American Woodcocks had returned. At dusk, I heard two different birds 'peenting' and briefly saw one fly over. There were also 2 Great Horned Owls calling from the hillside. I was happy with that even though I didn't get a good look at any of them.
