Nazareth Quarry and Hollo Road Pond ~ March 6, 2026

This afternoon's stop at the Nazareth Quarry produced 3 Northern Shovelers, 11 Gadwall, 14 American Wigeon, 8 American Black Ducks, 2 Northern Pintails, 11 Redheads, 48 Ring-necked Ducks, 6 Greater and one Lesser Scaup, 21 Buffleheads, 16 Common Mergansers, 33 Ruddy Ducks, 18 American Coots, and a Pied-billed Grebe. A skein of around 1500 Snow Geese and 2 Black Vultures were seen flying overhead, but there were only 3 Snow Geese and 36 Canada Geese in the quarry.

A stop at the Hollo Road retention pond didn't hold much, but the flooded field area between the pond and Shoeneck Creek held 37 Mallards, an American Black Duck, and a pair of Wood Ducks.
A Common Grackle was atop a tree while 27 Lesser Black-backed Gulls flew by.
