Greater Yellowlegs and Dunlin at Green Pond ~ November 9, 2023

I headed over to Green Pond to see if the American Bittern might still be there. I parked at the pond and found 3 American Black Ducks among about a hundred Canada Geese.

I walked over to the Farmersville Road pond. There, I found a pretty late Greater Yellowlegs.

Also there were a Bufflehead and another American Black Duck with several Mallards. On the fence surrounding the pond were 4 Eastern Bluebirds, a Chipping Sparrow, and a Dark-eyed Junco.

I continued back to the "middle pond". The American Bittern was nowhere to be seen and had apparently moved on. Two Canada Geese were the only birds there.

The southeast pond, which has no water so has grown up with vegetation, held several Savannah and Song Sparrows.

The two Dunlin continued from yesterday in the Green Pond Road pond along with a Great Blue Heron.

Back at Green Pond, a Belted Kingfisher grabbed a fish and flew towards the back of the pond.
