A morning visit to the woods at the Regency Boulevard retention ponds provided two unusual birds----a Merlin and a Philadelphia Vireo! Also seen there were Eastern Wood-Pewee, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Over at the north pond, a Greater and a Lesser Yellowlegs were spotted along with the continuing Pied-billed Grebe while the south pond held a Green Heron.
At the nearby Silver Crest Road retention pond, a Double-crested Cormorant, a Great Egret, and three Green Herons were found.
A Green-winged Teal and a Snow Goose were present in the West Gremar Road retention pond.
Then, back home, I had four different Ruby-throated Hummingbirds coming to the feeder, including this young male just starting to get its gorget feathers.
