I birded the Woodland Hills Preserve for the first time in a long while. In the northwest corner of the preserve, I came across a nice group of birds. It was impossible to find and identify all of them, but I did manage to see nine species of warblers, which included Tennessee, Cape May, Magnolia, Chestnut-sided, Blackburnian, Black-throated Green, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, and Northern Parula.
Also in the group were Red-eyed Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Willow Flycatcher, Scarlet Tanager, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Other birds present included Chimney Swift, Osprey, Eastern Phoebe, Carolina Chickadee, Tree and Barn Swallow, Eastern Bluebird, and Field and Chipping Sparrow.
I ended up with a total of 43 species for the morning.
