I walked the path along the fenced-in pond and down the east end of the hospital grounds, hoping to see some migrants before the winds got too strong. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. A Great Blue Heron was in the pond. Several Cedar Waxwings and American Goldfinches were present along the path.
One patch of high grass held at least 5 Savannah Sparrows.
The highlight of the morning was seeing one lone Broad-winged Hawk, which was my 100th species for this site. It was trying to find a thermal that wasn't get sheared off by the winds.
Another Savannah Sparrow was perched on the fence by Koch Toyota.
Other birds seen there included a Cooper's Hawk, 3 Tree Swallows, 4 Gray Catbirds, 6 Northern Mockingbirds, and an Eastern Bluebird.
