This morning's walk was at Housenick Park, which produced 52 species. Among them were a Sharp-shinned Hawk, a Bald Eagle, a very light-colored Red-tailed Hawk, a big movement of 154 Blue Jays, a Swainson's Thrush, Baltimore and Orchard Oriole, and 8 warbler species that included Nashville and Northern Waterthrush.
A stop at Green Pond on the way home produced 31 species, including the surprise of a Merlin that zoomed by over the shorebirds and continued on to the north. The shorebirds were comprised of 12 Least, 11 Solitary, and 5 Spotted Sandpipers, and 5 Lesser Yellowlegs. Both Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, and an Eastern Kingbird posed for photos.
