Mountain Bluebird and "Black" Brant in PA ~ January 4, 2016

I picked up my long-time birding friend, Babe Webster around 9:00 AM and we drove the ten minutes from her house to where a male Mountain Bluebird was being seen in Bucks County. We immediately spotted the bird associating with several Eastern Bluebirds about 75 yards from the road and got nice scope views of it. I was fortunate to get these long-distance photos before the group of bluebirds worked their way to the back of the fencerow.

We then crossed the Delaware River at Milford, New Jersey and tried to find the Crested Caracara that was frequenting the area around the town of Holland. We spent about an hour there but came up empty.

After dropping off Babe at her house, I decided to take a quick run to Peace Valley Park to see the "Black" Brant reported from there. It was easily found at Sailor's Point and extremely cooperative.
