I did an early evening run to Green Pond and the Newburd Road retention pond area. At Green Pond, a Hooded Merganser and a Spotted Sandpiper were in the back middle pond. The Spotted Sandpiper was my first of the year.
An Osprey was fishing over Green Pond, and a Bald Eagle was perched in the tree next to the retention pond along Green Pond Road.
Over at the Newburg Road retention pond, I found a Green Heron, another first for me in 2025. The field across the street held a Savannah Sparrow.
